VITABLOCS Mark II now approved for Dental Wings Lasermill

MONTREAL, Canada: Dental Wings has announced that its Dental Wings Lasermill laser ablation system is now certified to work with VITABLOCS Mark II materials (VITA Zahnfabrik). The abrasion-resistant monochromatic dental ceramic blocks are especially suitable for the fabrication of in- and onlays, veneers and crowns with CAD/CAM systems. According to the manufacturer, over the past 25 years, more than 9 million restorations have been produced from these blocks, with a ten-year survival rate of 90 percent.

Utilizing short, high-intensity laser pulses, the Dental Wings Lasermill removes small amounts of material from a standard block until the restoration is completed. The system allows dental clinics, laboratories and production centers to create restorations using a wide range of proven materials, such as VITABLOCS Mark II.

VITABLOCS Mark II have been described as true chairside materials, since the restoration can be inserted immediately after the milling process. The high translucency of the blocks ensures the shades integrate very well with the residual tooth structure. Compared with other materials, they do not require post-processes, such as stain, glaze or crystallization firing.

In order to pre-order the Dental Wings Lasermill, customers may contact their Dental Wings reseller for information on local availability.
