ICOI to discuss future of implant dentistry in Houston
HOUSTON, U.S.: From Feb. 27 to 29, the International Congress of Oral Implantologists (ICOI) will be holding its annual Winter Implant Symposium in Houston, America’s fourth-most populous city. The meeting will convene under the theme “Future Trends in Oral Implantology,” with the goal of providing attendees a comprehensive and science-backed overview of upcoming developments in the discipline.
The symposium will take place at the Marriot Marquis Houston hotel and will kick off with several presymposium lectures and hands-on workshops. After these lectures, there will be a program highlighting young implantologists, who will present on a wide range of topics, including immediate implant placement, the All-on-4 protocol and implementing intraoral scanning in the dental practice. On Thursday evening, a welcome reception will provide a forum for tabletop clinic and poster presentations on new concepts and information in oral implantology.
Friday will see the main scientific program commence with a lineup of speakers, including Drs. Stephen Caldwell, Joseph Cillo, Frank Deluca, Paul Weigl, Randolph Resnik and Aldo Leopardi, presenting on topics that can be immediately incorporated into everyday clinical practice, according to the event organizers. In addition, a concurrent multiday auxiliary program will deliver up to 20 hours of continuing education credits for participating dental professionals. Topics will include long-term implant care and maintenance, as well as strategies to build a thriving implant-focused practice.
