Dental companies stack up on FORTUNE’s most admired list
NEW YORK, U.S.: A number of dental manufacturers, suppliers and distributors feature on this year’s list of the most admired companies in the world. Compiled by FORTUNE business magazine, the 2020 list of 331 companies features Henry Schein, Danaher, Colgate-Palmolive, Procter & Gamble and 3M.
Henry Schein ranked first in the industry category “Wholesalers: Health Care” and 2020 marks the 19th consecutive year in which the dental distributor has been included on the overall list—this year at place 155. Henry Schein is headquartered in Melville, New York.

FORTUNE calls its annual list of the World’s Most Admired Companies “the definitive report card on corporate reputations”
New York-based FORTUNE calls its annual list of the World’s Most Admired Companies “the definitive report card on corporate reputations” because it enlists the reviews of peers in evaluating the more than 1,000 companies that are considered for the list each year. The 1,000 largest companies in the U.S., ranked by revenue, and also non-U.S. companies that post annual revenues of around $10 billion automatically make the ballot. FORTUNE then, in order to compile the rankings, surveys senior executives, directors and financial analysts operating in and covering more than 50 industries.
Close to 3,800 individuals were surveyed for the 2020 list. They were asked to evaluate companies on corporate attributes as diverse as quality of management, social responsibility, financial standing, use of corporate assets, and the ability to recruit and retain a talented workforce.
Technology giant Apple is the most admired company in the world—and has been for 13 consecutive years—according to FORTUNE. Amazon was ranked second on the overall 2020 list, followed by Microsoft, Walt Disney, and the transnational conglomerate Berkshire Hathaway.
