The Ibero-Panamerican Periodontology Federation, FIPP, is a transnational entity formed by the national Periodontology societies from Latin-American countries. Re-founded in 2002, FIPP reflects the essence of the Panamerican Periodontology Association, founded in 1972.
FIPP currently includes 15 countries: Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, Ecuador, Spain, Mexico, Panama, Peru, Portugal, Dominican Republic, Uruguay and Venezuela, covering the over 600 million people that live in the member countries of the Ibero-Panamerican Periodontology Federation, FIPP.
FIPP is an important player on a global scale, focused on Latin-American and Iberian countries and establishing a clear link between the American continent, Central America, South America, and Europe.
FIPP’s main goals are the development of Periodontology in Spanish and Portuguese-speaking countries and the promotion of oral health.
With a new strategic plan for 2019-2026, FIPP is driven towards the institutional consolidation of the entity in permanent cooperation with national universities, businesses and societies in the form of an alliance to improve the standards of postgraduate Periodontology programs at Universities in member countries and to provide higher clinical excellence that facilitates the promotion of periodontal and oral health.
