First digital dentistry online symposium: 3Shape hosts 24-hour webinar marathon

3Shape wins patent infringement lawsuit against Medit

COPENHAGEN, Denmark: Last year, 3Shape filed a patent infringement suit against Medit Corp., a South Korean company that specialises in 3D measurement and CAD/CAM solutions for dental clinics and laboratories. Now, 3Shape has announced that it has obtained a favourable first instance decision from the internationally highly esteemed Higher Regional Court of Düsseldorf, according to which the use of Medit’s intra-oral scanner, Medit i500, is now illegal in Germany.

3Shape and GuardLab announce equipment and marketing partnership

COPENHAGEN, Denmark: 3Shape, an award-winning developer and manufacturer of 3-D scanners and CAD/CAM software solutions for the dental industry, has announced an equipment and marketing partnership with GuardLab, a New York-based sports technology company that specialises in using 3-D technology, including 3-D printing, to create the most accurately fitting and protective mouthguards in the market. According to the partnership agreement, GuardLab will use 3Shape technology to digitally scan an athlete’s teeth and 3Shape’s CAM/CAD software to model its custom mouthguards for sports.

US International Trade Commission rejects Align’s patent infringement claims against 3Shape

WASHINGTON, U.S.: On March 1, 3Shape received a favorable notice of initial determination from the U.S. International Trade Commission (USITC) concerning the lawsuit that Align Technology had filed in November 2017 alleging 3Shape’s patent infringement. The responsible administrative law judge found that 3Shape had not committed any unfair acts and ruled that there had been no violation.
